The Foundational Data Engineering group manages the financial instrument reference data used across Two Sigma’s investment management activities. We are looking for a senior technology project manager to join our team in Houston. This individual will partner with engineering leads and be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of complex initiatives spanning multiple software engineering teams.


You should possess the following qualifications:

  • 4+ years as a technical project manager with a track record of success executing multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously

  • Advanced program management and project management skills

  • Strong analytical skills with a proven record of attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent presentation preparation skills

  • Experience managing all stages of a project lifecycle via Agile methodologies

  • High Proficiency with Jira, Visio, Google Sheets or Excel, Powerpoint or Google Slides

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience


Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in the fintech, investment management, fund administration, clearing, or prime brokerage space

  • Successfully partnered with development teams to execute a technology strategy that realized material business objectives.

  • Delivered technology and developed subject matter expertise across a few of the following areas: Financial instrument reference data including equities and derivatives, prices, corporate actions, physical and conceptual data modeling, microservices, event-driven architectures

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and influence multiple stakeholders at varying levels


Responsibilities:

  • Create project plans and monitor the project team’s execution through the project lifecycle

  • Control project scope and enforce deadlines

  • Manage project dependencies, risks, and escalate to management when needed

  • Publish regular project status, and manage project communications with project stakeholders

  • Ensure teams are employing project management best practices and contribute towards continuous improvement of project management practices across the firm
