We are seeking a tax professional with alternative fund tax experience who will be responsible for a variety of tax tasks related to our private equity / venture capital funds, hedge funds, real estate entities, management companies, and broker dealer. We are seeking a candidate with excellent attention to detail and organization skills, with strong problem solving and research skills. You will take on the following responsibilities:
  • Review of tax compliance deliverables, as well as liaison with external tax providers.
  • Analyze transactions and financial products to resolve their tax efficiency.
  • Monitoring of transactions and trading.
  • Coordinating with external tax providers to resolve tax notices from federal and various state tax authorities.
  • Work with Investor Relations on investor tax inquiries.
  • Assist in international tax compliance (e.g., Foreign subsidiaries, FATCA / CRS / FBAR / CBCR).
  • Participate in FIN 48 analysis.
  • Work with Investor Relations on investor tax inquiries.
  • Manage internal tax estimates workflow.
  • Participate in tax planning and tax structuring.
  • Support of front office transactions and new products.
  • Participate in REIT testing and due diligence.

You should possess the following qualifications: 
  • 3-5 years of experience in tax at a major accounting firm, or investment manager focused on both private equity and hedge fund taxation. Experience with management companies , individual taxes and real estate is also a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax rules applicable to alternative asset management funds and financial products.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build cross-functional collaboration within the firm and with outside providers / advisors.
  • Self-starter who is organized, upbeat, and works well in a team environment.
  • CPA or EA license or is working towards.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. L.L.M or Master in Tax a plus.

The base pay for this role will be between $100,000 and $175,000. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
