Venn is Two Sigma's portfolio analytics platform used by asset owners, asset managers, and advisors. Venn applies Two Sigma's expertise in research, data science, and technology to modernize the analytics experience for institutional investors, helping them embrace a quantitative approach to multi-asset portfolio risk and investment decision making. The tools available in Venn help investors perform factor-based risk analysis to inform manager due diligence, investment evaluation, and portfolio construction.

We’re currently seeking a Quantitative Software Engineer to help lead in the research and development of quantitative features on the Venn product as it continues to scale!

You will take on the following responsibilities:

  • Apply critical thinking and perform sophisticated quantitative analysis to further extend a SaaS product that clients already love, and that is growing, to deliver increasing value across the market
  • Perform original research on large datasets, demonstrating both rigor and creativity to develop insight-generating features for hundreds of the world’s leading investment teams
  • Create, design, build, and deploy solutions with an agile approach, from ideation, through rigorous testing, and partnering with Venn’s cross-functional teams to ensure an outstanding in-product UX
  • Become a domain expert and trusted advisor in the quantitative software engineering discipline, representing Venn by Two Sigma with clients, prospects, and in industry events
  • Actively contribute to the continuous learning attitude of the team by bringing in new insights, welcoming them from others, and generating even stronger outcomes as a result
  • Mentor junior team members and grow as a leader within the organization, accelerating your career by embracing opportunities to contribute around the entire organization

You should possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience required; 5-10 years of experience preferred building and delivering fintech products
  • BS degree in Computer Science or another highly technical, scientific discipline
  • Strong communication skills
  • Advanced programming skills and numerical algorithm implementation, proficient in at least one programming language (i.e. Python or Java)
  • Proficient in database technologies and exploratory data analysis
  • Ability to think independently and creatively approach data analysis
  • Strong curiosity about remaining updated on relevant technologies, trends, and industry best practices, identifying the ones Venn should implement
  • Experience with modern software development using version control, continuous integration, and other agile practices

The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $325,000. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
