The TSS UK Finance team is dedicated to supporting the firm's fast-growing efforts in the region. As the ambitious Finance Director, you will serve as the finance lead for TSS UK, the FCA-regulated trading entity, as well as for TSS entities outside of the U.S. In this role, you will build and foster meaningful relationships with regulators, vendors, and brokers on issues related to financial and accounting matters.

As a local strategic member of the finance team, you will be responsible for managing, training, and mentoring team members while collaborating with cross-functional teams at TSS and the broader Two Sigma organisation in New York and other locations. We are seeking a resilient Finance Director with the ability to learn quickly and improve procedures and controls through resilient automation processes. Applicants should demonstrate excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and preferably advanced proficiency in Excel.
You will take on the following responsibilities: 
  • Lead budgeting, internal management reporting and related communication with senior management globally
  • Manage currency risk, including periodically providing currency hedging instructions to the trading desk 
  • Manage liquidity, including collaborating closely with leadership on investment decisions for spare liquidity
  • Oversee sign-off, attestation, and ongoing monitoring of the UK portfolios’ books & records and capital, as well as tax and audit processes
  • Act as the lead contact for the regulators on topics involving regulatory reporting, capital, liquidity, and all accounting matters
  • Maintain the ICARA and related processes for the UK FCA-registered legal entity, including regular communications with the Board


You should possess the following qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience with an emphasis on financial control and regulatory reporting at a large financial institution in the United Kingdom, preferably an investment bank or a non-SNI trading firm 
  • Candidates should have a strong academic record, at minimum holding a Bachelors with Honours in a business discipline (Finance or Accounting strongly recommended)
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and/or advanced degree in a financial field, or equivalent experience 
  • Experience with UK/EU regulatory frameworks, including IFPR, IFR, Basel, MiFIR, EMIR, et al
  • Experience directly facing off with the regulators (FCA or PRA)
  • Solid understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting standards
  • Working knowledge of financial instruments accounting, books & records and capital
  • Strong project management and organisational skills considerations; experience with derivative products is preferred
  • Familiarity with operations/middle office functions at a brokerage/trading firm is preferred
