Two Sigma Private Investments / Sightway Capital is looking for a highly motivated and capable candidate to serve as Business Manager / Chief of Staff to the Chief Investment Officer. The primary responsibilities are to support the CIO with his day-to-day responsibilities, drive effective business and team operations that enable ambitious growth plans, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. The successful candidate will be team-oriented and results-focused, demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, and bring experience in operating in a fast-paced, outcome driven culture. This is a strategic and operational role, serving as a trusted advisor to the CIO and as a member of the leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the CIO
    • Establish and refine business priorities, determining objectives and approaches
    • Drive a disciplined program to execute against portfolio of high priority initiatives, identify dependencies and resolve issues as they arise
    • Ensure CIO is prepped for meetings: prepare and review materials, ensure correct attendees are included, clarifying objectives, outcomes, and agendas
    • Serve as a proxy for the CIO when needed, building trust-based and productive relationships
    • Develop reporting format and facilitate execution across groups
    • Assess inquiries directed to the CIO, determine the proper course of action, and delegate or handle appropriately
    • Provide a sounding board, advise on sensitive matters, and ensure the CIO has all the information necessary to make informed decisions
  • Other Senior Leadership Collaboration
    • Work with group COO and other key group leaders to drive / support strategic planning processes & key business initiatives
    • Collaborate with, and be a resource for, Sightway Investment Partners and Head of VC to define, track, and execute on their deliverables, including helping resolve bottlenecks
    • Drive certain cross-team operational and strategic challenges, escalating notable items to the CIO and/or appropriate team member
    • Collaborate with key group leaders around future state activities for all groups under the direction of the CIO (projects, hiring needs, resources, etc.)
    • Determine the need for and set up new business processes and committees
  • Work with HR business partners to enable team growth and foster a high performance, collaborative culture
    • Integrate new senior team members
    • Help define the group’s culture and facilitate internal communication strategy to drive it
    • Monitor and relay any morale challenges of the team to CIO
    • Partner with HR to execute people development initiatives

Qualifications

  • Excellent business and interpersonal judgement, discretion, diplomacy
  • Successful experience in high-performance, hyper-growth culture
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills and advanced PowerPoint, presentation and Word capabilities
  • Ability to build productive relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities
  • Highly resilient and adaptable to regularly shifting priorities and challenges
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to proactively solve issues, diving into details as needed
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to bring structure and process
