TITLE: AI Research Scientist – NEW YORK, NY
Job Location: 100 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10013
Note: Company “Hybrid” work attendance policy: In-office work attendance required at the aforementioned office address for collaboration days based on each team’s requirement; telecommuting / working from home is permissible for remainder of the same month.
DUTIES: Use the latest machine learning tools to analyze large datasets relevant to trading US equities using Python. Build infrastructure to train models using hundreds of computers on cloud infrastructure. Develop techniques and processes to research systematic predictive features. Apply neural networks to high frequency data using TensorFlow to deliver strong forecasts. Explore new techniques and features to keep up to date with new research in artificial intelligence and finance. Develop pipelines to ingest data and unit tests to ensure its correctness. Improve research tooling and infrastructure for automating workflows.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 3 years of experience in AI research or related experience OR Master’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field plus 1 year of experience in AI research or related experience. Must have experience with programming in Python and C++. Must have experience with programming in Linux systems (Bash Scripting). Must have experience with Cloud environments (e.g. Google Cloud Platform). Must have experience with applied machine learning to large amounts of noisy data. Must have experience with machine learning packages (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch). Must have experience with code version control (Git). Must have experience with machine learning techniques and model architectures. Must have experience with statistical learning algorithms. Must have experience with timeseries analysis. Must have experience with convex and non-convex optimization. Must have experience with large-scale optimization. Must pass company’s required skills assessment. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Rate of pay: The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $325,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
