We are seeking a versatile attorney and/or compliance professional to join our Legal & Regulatory team, providing legal and/or compliance support to an array of business initiatives with a primary focus supporting our research business platforms.
The ideal candidate is an attorney or compliance professional with a talent for conceptualizing and implementing legal and compliance processes and that has an interest in finance, data and technology. You will take on the following responsibilities:
- Managing the on-boarding of contributors to various research and insight platforms, such as programs involving the sell-side, expert networks, and public company management
- Overseeing compliance programs for a diverse range of internal analysts and research platforms with an emphasis on discretionary and fundamental research
- Standardizing internal policies and preferred contracts and deal terms across the group
- Liaising with business partners to understand their business needs
- Drafting and negotiating a variety of counterparty contracts and licenses in the research space
- Researching emerging and evolving areas of law and regulation relating to financial information, securities, investment management, technology, and machine learning
- Training business partners of aforementioned policies and processes
- Staying ahead of industry developments and legal issues related to the firm’s various business lines
You should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience either practicing law, working as a compliance officer, or experience as a regulatory consultant, preferably in support of financial research
- High aptitude, strong analytical skills, and intellectual curiosity especially for finance, data and technology
- Extraordinary organization skills and a penchant for designing efficient processes and workflows and documentation
- Ability and desire to independently learn emerging areas of law and identify legal and compliance issues related to innovative businesses
- Desire to handle novel and complex issues and ability to formulate concrete recommendations
