The Mobile Platform Engineering team is responsible for the platform to enable the end-to-end delivery of mobile applications - whether native or on a mobile browser, with a key focus on security, performance and usability. These applications bring the promise of increased productivity, improved velocity of communication, and empowerment of employees to work flexibly. Our goal is to make mobile computing increasingly ubiquitous, focusing on the convenience of allowing employees to use their own personal mobile devices to access certain company services. The team will be staffed with full-stack mobile engineers experienced in systems, architecture, engineering, security, network, and development/scripting disciplines. As such, we are looking for candidates who share a passion for tackling complexity and building platforms that can scale as we continue to grow globally.
The team is looking for a mobile platform engineer with a focus on administration, systems integration, mobile security and automation. You will also interface with mobile app developers to ensure seamless onboarding of apps into the mobile ecosystem.
You will take on the following responsibilities:
Engineer and maintain the firm’s existing enterprise mobility management platform - develop mobile device policies and configurations for various operating systems, define MDM profiles and rules, implement AppConfig and application wrapping policies, enhance operational and configuration monitoring capabilities.
Proactively analyze MDM logs and configurations to identify areas where performance, stability, scalability and security can be improved
Investigate feasibility, design and deliver enhancements to existing MDM environment to support cross-site HA
Test performance of internal applications delivered on mobile browser
Deliver tooling to enable automation, e.g. automated end-to-end integration and penetration testing across ecosystems (such as MDM, Proxy, SAML iDP, Firewall), enhance and automate metrics reporting, enhance and automate operational and configuration monitoring capabilities, etc.
Keep a pulse on new product and technology developments in the mobile space (OS vendors, MDM and MAM vendors, BYOD, etc.)
Evaluate, design and implement forward looking Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions
Understand the network, proxy and other cross-platform dependencies of MDM and MAM technologies. Ability to apply that knowledge when designing, deploying and troubleshooting EMM platforms and applications.
You should possess the following qualifications:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
5+ years’ experience as a mobile engineer
Scripting and automation experience using primarily Python or PowerShell
Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
Knowledge of enterprise mobility architecture, with prior experience designing and implementing MDM and MAM platforms desirable (such as Blackberry Dynamics, MobileIron, AirWatch, Google MDM)
Familiarity with mobile operating system architecture, at minimum iOS and Android
Possess a mobile security mindset with a focus on mobile platform risks, management controls, and application security in a BYOD environment (including AppConfig and App Wrapping)
