Operations Business Analyst/Project Manager

The Corporate Platforms and Initiatives group within Two Sigma works with functional groups to design and implement scalable business processes and technology solutions to support the firm’s growth. We are looking to add an experienced business analyst who is passionate about taking our Post-Trade Operations platform to the next level of excellence. In this capacity, you will be responsible for;

  1. Conducting current state assessments, developing future state processes, syndicating approach with engineering and functional teams, documenting business requirements, converting requirements to functional specifications for engineering teams, coordinating testing, and be responsible for overall solution delivery.
  2. Managing stakeholders with diverse agendas, driving meetings, developing consensus, managing project schedules, and applying best practices of project management.

Background and Skills:

  • You will have 5+ years of experience in the full lifecycle of project management – analyzing, designing, developing and implementing business processes and supporting implementation of technology solutions. 
  • Candidates must have prior ‘business analyst’ experience working with trade settlement and processing across Global Markets in multiple asset classes. Applicants should have worked at post-trade processing groups at buy-side finance firms (e.g., hedge funds, asset management firms), prime brokers, or in Fin-Tech firms focusing on post-trade processing. 
  • This role straddles both business and technology groups, including; execution, trading, business development and operations as well as their respective engineering teams and requires both “big-picture” thinking and “in-the-weeds” analysis/delivery skills. 
  • Successful track record with Agile development methodologies to deliver complex solutions is highly desired. 
  • Candidates with experience with delivering components within the scope of a larger strategic platform-wide re-engineering effort are preferred. 
  • You will have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • You will have the ability to make immediate impact to work already in progress. You will also have sufficient proficiency in SQL, MS Office (including Excel, PowerPoint), and be comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.
