We are hiring a Portfolio Analyst to work on analysis, reporting, and tactical research projects for the firm’s equity portfolio managers and other senior investment team leaders. Analysis will tend to focus on strategy performance, risk exposures, and relevant market themes. This is a role within the broader portfolio management team that provides many opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally and have a direct impact on the growth and success of Two Sigma’s investment management business.
You will take on the following responsibilities:
  • Generate and expand upon critical performance and risk reports for Two Sigma’s equity, beta-one, and macro strategies
  • Conduct research on how to best measure and react to portfolio exposures to relevant market themes
  • Collaborate with portfolio management teams to put together timely analysis of one-off market events
  • Assist with research for investment management thought leadership initiatives
  • Over time, speak to Two Sigma’s research and portfolio management processes during client interactions
You should possess the following qualifications:
  • An advanced degree in quantitative disciplines is preferred
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Broad familiarity with academic finance literature strongly preferred
  • External presentation skills (one-on-one with clients or larger institutional audiences)
  • Programming skills in Python, Java, or another language useful for data analysis
  • Solid statistical knowledge and familiarity with packages such as Numpy and Pandas
  • Experience at an asset manager or allocator is a plus

The base pay for this role will be between $150,000 and $200,000. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
