About the Position
Two Sigma is seeking a full-time Program Analyst to support Overdeck Family Foundation (the “Foundation”). The Program Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Foundation’s Inspired Minds portfolio, focusing on out-of-school science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and its associated Program Officer. This work will require contributions to strategic projects, as well as grant sourcing, execution, and management.
The Foundation has been making grants since 2010 in efforts to help unlock each child’s potential for excellence. This role is an exciting growth opportunity for an individual who is passionate about education and thrives in a fast-paced, creative, team-oriented environment. The Program Analyst will work closely with the portfolio Program Officer on the effective management and strategic development of the portfolio. This will include, but is not limited to:
Strategy, Research, & Support
- Participate in strategic planning as it relates to program development
- Research new potential investment areas and/or strategic project ideas.
- Contribute to the Foundation’s knowledge management database and document portfolio learning.
- Assist Program Officer with the prospecting and sourcing of grants, based on clear understanding of portfolio strategy.
- Maintain an internal catalogue of research (historical and current) to build an evidence base aligned to portfolio strategy and related investments.
- Conduct portfolio-specific research to understand impact for both the field and specific grants.
- Conduct data analyses on grantee, portfolio and research data.
- Use/analyze data sources to ID programmatic needs to inform strategy
- Assist with program assessments ensuring programmatic goals are well documented
- Provide data management/analysis for studies and maintain assigned projects
- Support the portfolio’s overall success in managing and learning with grantees, including conducting site visits, managing grantee check-ins, tracking progress on goals and outcomes, and supporting with annual reporting.
- Assist with data collection, validation, and quality control; interact with grantees to reinforce the value/power of data and analysis.

- Represent the foundation in meetings with potential and existing grantees, as well as at conferences, convenings, and meetings.
- Use quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze effectiveness of organizational programs and strategy at large.
Operations, Systems, and Process Improvement
- Collaborate with and support Program Officers with strategy, planning, content and execution of portfolio related activities, events, and convenings.
- Create and maintain efficient workflows for portfolio grants and projects, including, among other things, project management, event planning, engaging with grantees and colleagues, and ensuring data quality.
- Create and maintain detailed records, including qualitative and quantitative analyses, with respect to Program Officers’ interactions with potential grantees.
- Interest in Foundation’s mission of unlocking every child’s potential for excellence by forming strategic partnerships to fund promising, evidence-based ideas, which creates lasting value for generations to come.
- Align with organizational values of investing in the next generation, connecting genuinely, and learning better, together.
- Exhibit a passion for and strong interest in education; previous experience working in education or an education-related role, and subject matter proficiency in out-of-school science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.
- Minimum of Bachelor's level degree, two years of related experience in a field that aligns with STEM education is preferred.
- Knowledge of and interest in research and analytical methods, data science, and data visualization preferred.
- Excellent critical thinking and quantitative analysis skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to move quickly from one task to another.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain diverse relationships with multiple stakeholders; direct and indirect research experience a plus.
- Experience in project management preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers and the operation of standard office machines and software (Microsoft Office Suite [Word, Excel, PowerPoint], Google Suite, Airtable, Tableau, Qualtrics, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen with a desire to empathetically understand colleagues and partners.
- Familiarity with a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; similarly, the Program Analyst should be flexible, a self-starter, and comfortable with uncertainty (at times).
- Possess a “whatever-it-takes” attitude; proactively develop creative and effective solutions for difficult, unique, or unexpected issues.
