The Windows Platform Engineering team is a systems team that focuses on developing automated Windows Server and Workstation builds on bare-metal hardware as well as on Hyper-V using SCCM and SCVMM. The Windows Platform Engineering team is the foundation upon which all Windows server and workstation products are built, operated and delivered. Engineers within the team have deep and broad skillsets covering hardware, operating systems, VDI, application packaging, application virtualization, server and workstation configuration management, scripting and automation, storage, security, networking, monitoring, device management, vulnerability management, operating system and application patching.

As a Senior Windows Platform Engineer, you will serve as the lead architect, developing automated Hyper-V and Bare-Metal based Windows Server builds, engineering SCVMM infrastructure to provide a highly manageable and flexible server farm that can be easily grown, upgraded, operated, patched, and recovered. You will have the remit to select, evaluate and deploy the products and methodologies that are most suitable to your designs – some of which are current technologies such as Microsoft SCCM, SCVMM, Hyper-V, and Citrix. A mindset of design and operational excellence is a must, along with the ability to understand multiple sets of potentially conflicting requirements and be able design solutions that optimizes them across all. You will need to understand our varied applications running on our Windows server farm and operate them in a way that will meet and exceed their needs.  You will need to manage your own projects, collect requirements, develop business cases, and be meticulous in documentation. Collaborating with other teams such as Infrastructure, Security, Network Engineering, Product Engineering, Support, Operations, and other related groups is of utmost importance.  This will enable you to develop server farms that are feature rich, recover from failures gracefully, are easy to operate and manage, and are easy to patch and upgrade with minimal disruption to the applications hosted.
