We are seeking a strong software engineer to join the Metadata team. Metadata owns the data governance and metadata platforms that unlock new research opportunities and enable data to flow smoothly in production.  These platforms enable a range of powerful functions critical to Two Sigma’s data workflows, including data access, discovery, and observability.

In this role, you will collaborate with a sophisticated set of users, product managers, engineering leaders, and teammates to deliver world-class software for Two Sigma’s data governance and metadata capabilities.

You will take on the following responsibilities:
  • Develop services, pipelines, and analytics that power new data governance capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering partners to interact with storage & compute systems that manage Two Sigma’s data.
  • Collaborate closely with users and teams across modeling, engineering, and corporate to enable their data access, discovery, and observability workflows.

You should possess the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Strong design, implementation and debugging skills
  • A track record of successfully releasing high quality software products
  • Excellent collaboration & communication skills
  • Rich engineering experience in the data governance domain is a big plus
