Job Location: 100 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10013
Note: Company “Hybrid” work attendance policy: In-office work attendance required at the aforementioned office address for collaboration days based on each team’s requirement; telecommuting/working from home is permissible for remainder of the same month.

Duties: Engineer and maintain a high-performance, hybrid cloud (mix of on-site and cloud) object-storage software system capable of supporting petabyte-level data load. Design and engineer/develop the web user interface, ensuring it interacts seamlessly with the storage system. Engineer and implement client-facing software interface that is compatible with the industry standard, including both the command line interface and the client code to enhance the user experience of the system. Maintain and engineer a routing service that can effectively manage hybrid cloud requests. Support the storage software infrastructure to diagnose and resolve issues in the production environment, ensuring that services meet the Service Level Objectives (SLO). Develop/engineer software tools to streamline operations including deployment and testing. Integrate metrics collection, querying, and alerting using popular industry software tools to provide and improve the storage system’s observability.

Minimum education required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.

Skills required: Must have knowledge of the following software skills and technologies: Java or Python for developing/engineering, testing, and troubleshooting software code; engineering fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable software solutions running in multi-tenant environments; Google Cloud Platform (GCP); REST or gRPC on HTTP; application deployment to Kubernetes; Linux scripting; Nginx; Angular or React; Javascript and CSS for web front-end layout; designing and developing RESTful web services; processing (reading/writing) data from relational/non-relational databases programmatically; and version control (Git). Must also pass company’s required skills assessment.

Base salary: The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $325,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
