Position Summary
Job Location: 100 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10013
Note: Company “Hybrid” work attendance policy: In-office work attendance required at the aforementioned office address for collaboration days based on each team’s requirement; telecommuting / working from home is permissible for remainder of the same month.

Duties: Building and maintaining the software services and tools used across the company for communication, collaboration, and productivity. Working with third-party vendors including Slack, Microsoft, Google, Bonitasoft, and Sinequa to assess their offerings and customize solutions for Two Sigma’s unique security requirements. Developing in-house full-stack solutions for use-cases not covered by vendor products, primarily with Python, Java, React, PostgresQL, and GraphQL. Maintaining a high uptime for our products and ensuring reliable releases, including implementing monitoring for production problems, and providing ongoing user support. Partnering with Legal, Compliance, Security, and HR to ensure all our products meet the business requirements in those functional areas. Collaborating with teams around the company to understand automation and productivity needs, to inform development and feature improvements. Engagement in architecture, design, and code reviews, aimed at fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering, or related experience.

Skills required: Must have experience with programming object-oriented languages including Python, Java, or PHP. Must have experience with front-end development experience in React. Must have experience working with PostgreSQL database technology. Must have experience working with both cloud and on-premises deployment pipelines. Must have experience with developing and maintaining end-to-end web applications, including programming, database integration, REST and GraphQL APIs, front-end development, and user testing. Must have experience with developing web application tooling for internal and non-technical users within a company. Must have experience with developing and executing project plans with extensive collaboration across teams. Must have experience with setting up observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog. Must have experience working with compliance-sensitive data and developing tooling to handle such data. Must pass company’s required skills assessment. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $325,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
