We are seeking an experienced, talented, and discrete systems engineer to assist in design, build, maintenance, and support of the personal technology and home automation needs of the two co-chairmen of the firm, their households, family offices, foundations and charities.

Ideal candidate will be experienced in Active Directory, Exchange, Windows servers and workstations, hyper-v virtualization, terminal services, public key infrastructure, indoor and outdoor wireless networking, and have a working knowledge of computer room design, power distribution and cabling as well as Linux and layer 2/3 networking - specifically IPSec VPN tunnels and BGP routing. Knowledge of home automation, whole-house entertainment systems, programmable lighting and shades, security systems, cameras, and alarm systems is a big plus.

Requirements include excellent prioritization, communications, pragmatic decision making, and planning skills. A strong sense of ownership, and high degree of discipline in documenting and testing every design and change are keys to success in this role.

This role requires moderate amount of travelling within the New York metro area and its suburbs and periodic travel to an out of state location

Qualifications Include:

  • At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.

  • 5+ years of experience engineering and supporting Windows based environments

  • Understanding of common IP networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.

  • Demonstrated responsiveness, resourcefulness, and follow through.

  • Experience in administering accounts and policies in an Active Directory environment.

  • Proficiency with troubleshooting and resolving problems pertaining to workstation connectivity, MS Office, and malware.

Additional Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Some experience with programming and/or scripting (Python, Java, etc….)

  • Experience with Linux system services and programs, including package management, Nagios, dhcpd, bind, nfs, nis, apache, mysql/mongodb, samba

  • MCSE or Industry-level certification such as LPI or similar.
