Technical Lead - Mobile Platform
New York, New York, United States
Two Sigma is a different kind of investment manager. Since 2001, we have used data science and technology to derive insights that forecast the future and discover value in markets worldwide. Our team of scientists, technologists and academics looks beyond traditional finance to understand the bigger picture and develop creative solutions to some of the world’s most difficult economic problems. Our work spans markets and industries, from insurance and securities to private investments and new ventures.
The Unified Communications and Collaboration team’s mission is to provide Two Sigma with better user experiences by modernizing the company’s messaging and collaboration infrastructure, while introducing best-available cloud solutions where possible. In addition, the team owns the firm’s mobility practice, with responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of internal and external applications to mobile devices, with a key focus on security, performance and usability. These applications bring the promise of increased productivity, improved velocity of communication, and empowerment of employees to work flexibly. Our goal is to make mobile computing increasingly ubiquitous, focusing on the convenience of allowing employees to use their own personal mobile devices to access certain company services. As such, we are looking for candidates who share a passion for tackling complexity and building platforms that can scale as we continue to grow globally.

As the lead mobility engineer, you will be well versed with the enterprise mobility management market landscape, while keeping a close pulse on key mobile OS developments from Apple, Google and others. You will be responsible for evangelizing the platform to internal application owners while providing guidance on how to develop mobile-friendly and performant apps, such as by sharing best practices on mobile software development frameworks that leverage modern authentication and standardized cascading style sheet templates.

Partner with application developers to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performing apps for a best-in-class user experience
Establish best practices for internal teams seeking to build mobile applications. Deliver an extensible application template that provides Two Sigma’s in-house authentication, storage, logging, and security features baked in.
Design and development of software libraries as part of a mobile application framework (e.g. SAML libraries, CSS templates, etc.)
Demonstrate subject matter expertise in mobile operating system architecture, inherent security controls, and risks present, specifically for iOS and Android
Evaluate, design and implement forward looking Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) solutions
Create technical artifacts such as architecture views, technology architecture blueprints and design specifications
