Position Overview

Two Sigma Ventures (TSV) is the venture capital business of Two Sigma Investments, investing in early-stage startups across a range of industries that leverage math, data, and advanced science. TSV has invested in over 50 companies since it was started in 2012. TSV provides office space on Two Sigma’s campus for some of the NYC-based seed-stage companies in which we have invested.  At any given time, we have 5-10 different companies residing in our co-working space, approximately 80 people in all. We are hiring a Coordinator to work closely with the TSV team and the companies working out of our co-working space to support a variety of areas of the business. The Coordinator will manage day-to-day operations of the co-working space, including overseeing our reception desk and welcoming visitors to the space, serving as the main point of contact for space-related questions for teams working out of the co-working space, and maintaining various displays, equipment, and supplies used around the space. In addition, the Coordinator will work with the TSV team to support administrative needs such as scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and entering expenses. Finally, the Coordinator will help support events hosted at our space, including coordinating catering, guest registration, and event logistics.

Reception and Co-working Space Management Duties - 40%:

  • Manage the reception desk, serving as the main point of contact for guests and visitors
  • Process visitor and new employee contracts and IDs
  • Serve as first point of contact for general questions/concerns for portfolio companies in co-working space and for any visitors to the floor
  • Answer the front desk phone and transfer/take messages as needed
  • Maintain co-working space equipment and tools, including room booking systems and digital displays

 Administrative Assistant Duties - 40%:

  • Provide administrative assistance to members of TSV leadership team
    • Calendar management and meeting coordination
    • Travel arrangements
    • Expenses
  • Support the TSV Executive Assistant as needed, including coordination of team activities 

Event coordination - 20%:

  • Support events hosted by TSV or others at our co-working space, including event logistics, catering, guest registration, and setup

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record
  • 3+ years of experience as a receptionist, administrative assistant, or office manager
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a startup culture and take on new challenges as needed
  • A proactive mentality and ability to work independently
  • Process-oriented, always looking for ways to implement and/or improve processes
  • Tech savvy; ability to get up to speed on new technologies and software
  • Demonstrated interest in startups or venture capital is a plus
